Programme

Oh, the deadwood stage has brought us to Centrestage! Welcome ladies and gentlemen to our 2024 production of ‘Calamity Jane’!

Last year we were over the moon to be back on stage with ‘Sister Act’ - our first official production since before the pandemic. And what a welcome back we received from audiences!

We then got back into our concert mode with ‘KAOS in the KIRK’ in the New Laigh Kirk in September - a wonderful night of great musical hits!

Just before our concert we announced that we’d be taking on the much loved ‘Calamity Jane’ for our March production and it’s safe to say our members and audiences were thrilled!

Steering us through the production are our long-time duo, Liz and Tom Daniels as director and musical director respectively as well as returning choreographer Marie-Anne McGrattan who had the task of getting us all whip crackin’ at the same time (no easy feat). Stage manager David Picken returns to keep things running seamlessly with fantastic set by Prop Hire Scotland.

We are also so pleased to have BSL interpreter Louise Howie back for our Tuesday night performance.

I would like to give a huge thanks to everyone working behind the scenes to bring this fantastic production to fruition - we couldn’t do it without you!

And a personal thanks to our committee for always working so tirelessly for our club!

And of course we can’t forget about you, we can’t thank our audience enough for your continued support. Now hop on the “Deadwood stage” and start “slappin’ the reigns” - it’s showtime!
